Dual Credit Programs

Dual Credit put simply means that a student is receiving credits from two institutions at the same time.  For example, a student enrolled in the welding program at N.W.C.C. will be receiving credit both for welding, and for high school.   This is possible because the hours that a student spends in the welding program can also be applied toward elective credits in the provincial dogwood program.

Why Dual Credit?

Dual Credit programs allow you to get a jump start on your career path either while you are in grade 12, or the year after (as long as you are still 19).  Another great benefit is that the school district covers the cost of tuition for the programs offered at NTETC.  This means that you literally save thousands of dollars in course fees.  (There are usually some equipment or supplies costs that each student needs to pay.)
