About NTETC

NTETC is short for Northwest Trades and Employment Training Centre.  Realizing that there was a need in the northwest for a different type of education that would prepare students for life after high school, the Coast Mountains Board of Education commissioned a feasibility study on the development of a local Trade Centre.

As a result of the study, a three year strategic plan was drawn up, and implemented.  The plan called for the re activation of the former Thornhill Junior Secondary School.  Over the three year period, the building would be renovated and re fitted to provide dual credit programs in a number of different areas.  The first two programs were implemented for the 2015-2016 school year.  The great interest in dual credit education meant that the trade centre began it's journey with full cohorts in both Cosmetology and Welding.
